To make day-to-day workplace safety responsibilities clear and practical, with controls that prevent injury, occupational illness and unsafe work before incidents occur.
Who it applies to: Employees, temporary personnel, contractors, drivers, warehouse teams, facilities staff, visitors and any person working at a location under Lion & Leo’s operational control.
The standards we expect in practice.
These principles guide decisions, conduct and day-to-day execution across the relevant parts of our business.
Identify material hazards before work begins and update the assessment when conditions change.
Provide task-appropriate instruction, supervision and personal protective equipment where required.
Maintain clear emergency routes, fire protection, first-aid arrangements and incident contacts at relevant sites.
Give personnel authority to stop or escalate work where an uncontrolled serious hazard is present.
Treat near misses as learning opportunities and not only wait for injuries before improving controls.
Controls that turn policy into evidence.
Controls are scaled to the nature, value and risk of the activity rather than treated as a one-size-fits-all checklist.
Site and task risk assessments for higher-risk activities.
Safety induction, toolbox discussions and role-specific training where appropriate.
PPE issuance and inspection controls for relevant tasks.
Fire, first-aid, evacuation and emergency-response arrangements proportionate to the site.
Incident and near-miss reporting, investigation and corrective-action tracking.
Clear ownership matters.
Managers provide safe planning, resources and supervision.
Workers follow established safety controls and report unsafe conditions promptly.
Facilities and fleet teams maintain critical safety equipment and preventive checks.
Leadership reviews serious incidents, recurring hazards and overdue corrective actions.
How to raise a concern.
Workplace hazards, injuries, near misses or unsafe instructions should be raised immediately with the supervisor or responsible manager. Serious or unresolved concerns may also be reported through compliance@lionleo.net or the Whistleblowing & Reporting Policy.
Reports made honestly and in good faith should be protected from retaliation. Confidentiality is maintained as far as possible while still allowing a fair assessment or investigation.
Policies that work together.
Governance controls overlap by design. These related policies provide additional context for this topic.
